usually you should lose a higher amount of exp, something like 5% in sum. 2,5 loss which can be healed my soul healer and 2,5 lost forever. if you have not the .noexp command as player, its hard to stay on a level. currently you only lose 1% or even less
Fixed, thanks. A death to a monster now costs what it did in 2.x: 3% of your level's XP, of which 2% can be recovered at a Soul Healer and 1% is lost for good. Recoverable XP is capped at a quarter of your level's XP; past that the extra is lost for good. It was less than 1% before. The old guides give 3% rather than 5%, so that is what we used. Dying to the other faction's guards and patrols no longer costs XP, the same as dying to a player. Live after the next server update.
Checked again. We let every kind of Elyos guard and patrol in Eltnen kill an Asmodian, and none of them took any XP; monsters took the usual 3%. Eltnen also has monsters with "patrol" in their name, the Kaidan Patrols, Mamaki Patrols and Watch Patrols, and those are monsters, so dying to them costs XP, and so does dying when a monster lands the last hit while a guard is fighting you. If it happens again with a guard or patrol of the other faction, please tell us its name and where it was.
Checked, and thank you for testing it again. Dying to that Sentinel Leader costs no XP: we tried it at that exact spot with a level-22 Asmodian, killed by him in a real fight, and lost nothing, which matches your new test. In your first screenshot he is fighting a Sawtooth Frillneck, with Moss Spirits and Piercing Vespines around, so the earlier loss most likely came from one of those monsters landing the last hit. If it happens again, please post the chat lines just before "You have died" so we can see who it was.
